Birth photo – minus 3 seconds old

I rarely get the chance to make a birth photo like this preview of Ferron. There are several reasons, like too many medical personnel present or a fast delivery where this moment is over in a split second. At the birth of Ferron it was different. It was a natural birth and there were few people in the room. When Ferron was born his umbilical cord was wrapped around his head and it was too tight to slide it over his head. When this happens, the midwife has to clamp the umbilical cord with  2 clips (that look like scissors) and cut it, while only the head is born. Because this happend and because Gwendolyn listened well to the midwife, there was time to make this  birth photo.
It can’t become any more pure than this! … The umbilical cord has just been cut, 1 clip (which you pinch the cord with) is still hanging next to his head and he hasn’t had his first gulp of air  … Fan-tas-tic!

3 seconds later, a healthy baby boy born!

Gwendolyn Thanks for sharing this very special birth photo!
