Denny doesn’t want me to tell everyone we’re trying for a baby. Actually, he doesn’t want me to tell anyone, but that is im-poss-ible! What will I tell my friends who all knew we’d talk about it while on holiday? But then I suddenly realise it would be fun to surprise them with the news that I’m pregnant. So I – the worst liar in the world – make up a story which is partially based on the truth. That makes it easier to tell. I tell everyone that I enjoyed our holiday so much, that I just couldn’t even see how a baby would fit into our life at all. That my company is going so well and I want to take the time for that before having a baby blah, blah, blah. I hint that we’ll try for a baby after the summer. Now I just hope that I’ll be pregnant by then! How amazing would it be to surprise them with that news? I test my story out on my friend Evelien and she falls for it completely. I didn’t expect that! 🙂
Because I do want to tell someone and Denny is ok with that, I tell her the truth afterwards. She is really happy for me, but was very convinced by my story, so that should work fine with other people.
Sheesh, who would ever have thought that I could be a convincing liar? Anything for a baby… 😉
